We built our bottle rocket using duct tape, a 2 liter coke bottle, and cardboard. We used the bottle as the body, the cardboard for the fins and cone, and the duct tape to obviously bind everything together. One thing that really struck me about this project is that we made a working rocket out of recyclables. I never expected that you could pressurize water inside of a bottle to launch it into the air. I noticed that our rocket went really high up. The 500 ml of water was the perfect amount to launch it high. Water affects the design so much because it adds much more force that just pressurized air. Water is 800 times denser than air. The amount of water is the amount of extra force the rocket has. If you only add a little water the rocket wont go very high, if you add too much water the rocket wont go very high, but if you add just enough it will work fine. I think our rocket was very successful and went very high. If I could change one thing about the rocket is making it as sturdy as it is, just with less duct tape and weight.
