This year I learned to speak fluent Spanish and I am very grateful for that. First going into the class I did not know much in the language but I knew enough to meet someone. I knew very basic Spanish and couldn't hold a conversation longer than a few minutes. Now after the semester I know the language fairly well and know how to talk to native speakers. I think the classes helped me expand on the language more than anything. Even at home when I would google new words, I still didn't learn as much as I did in class. I am very motivated to expand my knowledge of Spanish solely because I am very interested in it. I try to motivate my peers by speaking Spanish with them outside of class. Sometimes I annoy my carpool by speaking Spanish to them. My goals in Spanish conversations is to hold a conversation as long as possible. So far I can hold a conversation with one person for over 15 minutes, but I want to expand. Last time I went to Tijuana with my dad I spoke Spanish to the employees helping us. The understood me and I was honestly very proud of myself. For the final we had a conversation about the Presidential Election, I would really like to expand and talk about subjects like Martial Arts and Biking. I chose Shawn as my partner because we are good friends and work very well together. We both try to push each other to do better and be more efficient. I have tried to watch movies and listen to the radio in Spanish but it didn't go so well. I couldn't keep up and only got 1 in 5 words. It wasn't very effective to say the least. My father and I practice Spanish together all the time at home. He teaches me new words and we have fun with it. I also practice Spanish with Mr. Lee in between classes. He also teaches me new words and phrases. The articles we read in class really help me understand sentence structure and how conjugation really works. This is our first conversation getting ready for the exam. Some things are a little rocky but overall we understood the topic and stayed on topic.
This is around our 15th conversation in preparation for our final exam. Mistakes that were made in the first video were fixed and we overall became more comfortable with the topic. We brought up new questions and comments and just overall improved. The only thing we did to improve was practice, a lot.
This is the final Spanish exam. I think we performed very well and I am very proud of it. We were cut short because of schedule but we could've talked much longer.
