Business: Life's Rad Clothing Contact: Nancy Carrillo [email protected] First Period: T. Nikolova A typical day of work is very dependent on your role in the company. The owner runs most of the company, and facilitates it entirely. There is a social media team that works on website building and social media pages, but the owner facilitates all of that. I took on graphic design jobs, this included creating and ordering business cards, posters, and fliers. A typical day in the graphic design role is job assignments in the morning and completion by the end of the day, unless otherwise expressed. General work policies are structured around trust. You are expected to complete your job and fulfill your role. The boss is extremely forgiving, but still expects work to be done. She expressed to me that a job should be completed no matter the parameters. There is no dress code as most of the business is run digitally and with people working from home. When meeting with potential buyers, the employees are expected to where the company merchandise. Life's Rad Clothing is an extremely modern business with a foundation of trust. I expect day to day work to include receiving jobs from the owner, completing said jobs, asking her for feedback, editing the product until it is approved, and finally sending it in. Skills I utilized in this profession included affinity with Photoshop and digital art software, which are not entirely applicable to school. A general High Tech High skill I utilized was being able to communicate constructively and create a product with input other than my own.
